3. How We Use Google APIs

Purpose: We use Google APIs solely to provide our clients with unified, automated performance reports. Our reporting platform aggregates data from multiple Google services into a single branded report for our clients’ internal business use.

We request access to the Google Business Profile API to retrieve performance insights (calls, clicks, direction requests, search queries) for businesses we manage. This data is:

Only accessed with explicit client authorization through OAuth consent
Only displayed to the business owner in private, password-protected reports
Combined with Google Search Console and Analytics data to create comprehensive monthly reports
Never shared with third parties or used for any purpose other than client reporting

3.2 Why We Need API Access

We cannot use the standard Google Business Profile dashboard because:

Our clients need automated, multi-source reports combining GBP, Search Console, and Analytics data
Manual data export from multiple dashboards is time-consuming and error-prone
Our clients require historical tracking and month-over-month comparisons
Reports must be white-labeled with our agency branding for professional client delivery

3.3 Data Access Scope

We only request the minimum necessary permissions:

Read-only access to performance metrics (we never modify business profiles)
Access is granted on a per-client basis through OAuth consent
Clients can revoke access at any time through their Google Account settings

4. Data Storage and Security

Temporary Storage: API data is fetched in real-time during report generation and stored temporarily (30-90 days) for historical comparison
Encryption: All data transmission uses HTTPS/TLS encryption
Access Control: Only authorized agency personnel have access to client data
No Third-Party Sharing: We never sell, rent, or share client data with third parties
Secure Deletion: Upon service termination, all client data is securely deleted within 90 days

5. Client Data Ownership

All performance data accessed through Google APIs remains the sole property of the client. We act solely as a data processor on behalf of our clients.

8. Data Retention

Active Clients: Historical performance data retained for up to 12 months for trend analysis
Former Clients: All data deleted within 90 days of service cancellation unless legally required to retain
